Blesma members had a great day at the Imperial War Museum (IWM) with Marcus Lyon Photographer and artist thoughts with the BLESMA photographers. We listened with interest to his brief talk of a 4 year SOMOS BRAZIL project (Brazilian agents of change). The biggest take away from his advice is collaboration is key and do not be afraid to reach out to people.
Hillary Robert and Kathleen Palmer of the IWM hosted the Blesma group and gave an interesting talk on the origins IWM to record the causes and consequences of conflict. There are in excess of 11 million photographic images & 20,000 works of art in the IWM collection.
They also introduced Ed Barber – Peace Signs and Ed Clark – War on Terror exhibitions which were stimulating; thought provoking and clearly had a profound impact on some of the individuals who attended.
The photo group who attend the weekend in London spent a day in the studio photographing our model Toni on Saturday. The day was orchestrated by Mick William who also provided studio instruction with some great images produced on the day
The following day early at Camden, followed by Leake Street Tunnel & South Bank,
Pradeep Rai won our little smartphone completion with a photo of Sadam Hussein taken at the IWM
